Where Im From

I was from a family of five
and one home.

The strong scent of asphalt
And White Diamond.
Drawn with huge smiles
From the Crayola box of 64.
Tamale dinners for a week straight
After Christmas.

From loud mexican music,
And Tecate.
Domestic disputes and
Embarrassing family outings.
Mom sleeping with my sisters and
Dad in another room.

I am from a family of five
And two homes.

I really admire the structure of this poem and how it moves from the one home to the two homes. The way you did this really made this poem something I could feel, not just read. Thank you.
